As a Close Protection Operative you are not a subservient approaching a
client in search of a “job.” You are a businessperson selling protection services
to an individual or corporation in need of protection services. You can’t approach a prospective client with a “I’d do anything for a job as a Close Protection Operative.”
The approach must be between equals, one businessman to another.
The client, before he enters into an agreement with a Close Protection Operative,
must have the necessary trust in the Operative to commit his personal safety and that of his relationships into the care of the Operative. If he or she is approached by an individual with hat in hand, and his vocabulary filled with too many “sirs,” as if he were a servant applying for a position, he will not earn the emotional trust necessary to enter into the professional commitment.
