The mission of the SPS is the protection of Agency personnel, facilities and information through the enforcement of Federal Laws and Agency Regulations. The Security Protective Service provides a full range of high quality security/police services through a variety of specialty units and fixed posts where officers routinely work eight-hour shifts to include weekends/holidays and may be directed to work overtime. This intense course is designed to meet the training needs of the special operations sniper. Students must also pass a written test to become certified as a Law Enforcement Sniper. This course will cover psychological and physical requirements of the sniper. Use of force, marksmanship, nomenclature, firing positions, commands, rifle maintenance, ballistics, range estimation, cover & concealment, effects of weather & time of day, and making the shot.
