Great article!! It’s very difficult to explain to the inexperience the notion of prudent judgment and the legal requirements that surround us in everything we do while out on a detail. Hucky, this is why we typically counsel or encourage our prospective CPOs to get their degrees. Not only will they make better decisions, but they will make better decisions under extreme circumstances and THAT is the value of what our clients pay for.

Again Hucky, you 5X’d the point of the perception of the Hollywood version of protection. These individuals, we in the industry refer to as “Bodyguard”, I’m a professional. At Armor Bearer Protective Services, we’re not looking for hired guns. We look for men and women who are intelligent, detailed oriented, team players with excellent communications skills.

We understand aggressiveness has its place, however if we have to go hands on, we weren’t detail or thorough enough.

Hucky you’re right, this are misconceptions and nothing more than a myth. The sooner everyone understands that, the faster the level of professionalism of our industry will ascend.

Again, thank you, marvelous job and keep up what you’re doing. It is relevant and necessary!

Great information and to the point of what we really should be doing as EP agents. I loose more people from my detail due to the fact that they inform me, “It’s not high-speed enough for them”. Most are the ones who don’t do there background research on the career field.
Keep the info coming…..your website is a great tool for anyone seeking employment in this vast field.
