Secret Service Detained Armed Man Near Ex-President’s Home

Man held at ex-president’s home: The Secret Service detained, questioned and released a man who had a firearm in his vehicle as he pulled up outside the north Dallas home of former President George W. Bush.

Although they do not believe the man presents a danger to the former President, the Secret Service said at the time they were continuing to question him, but NBC reported that the man was questioned and released, according to Secret Service spokesman Agent Donovan. The Agent says the unidentified man showed up “uninvited” about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, saying he wanted to see Bush. Donovan says the man had a permit for the gun and his answers checked out, so he was released and left.

A Bush spokesman says the Bushes weren’t home at the time. The street leading to the house is blocked by a gate, however the man actually made it through a secure gate by closely following a vehicle that was in front of him, little did he know that the gate is monitored around-the-clock by the Secret Service.

There have been several incidents in the past of people trying to make it through the gates to get a message to or see former President Bush.”

Oprah Winfrey’s Bodyguards

IN THE NEWS – In what’s already been a rough week image wise for the bodyguard industry, Britney Spears ex-bodyguard breaches client confidentiality, and then Madonna’s ex-bodyguard jailed for smuggling guns into the UK.

Now it seems that three of Oprah Winfrey’s bodyguards were detained by Indian police after a scuffle with local TV journalists.

The incident occurred while the internationally acclaimed TV host was shooting for her show ‘Next Chapter’ while visiting the Hindu pilgrimage town of Mathura, about 90 miles south of Delhi, Indian police briefly detained three of Oprah’s bodyguards after they scuffled with local TV journalists. No one was reported hurt.

The three bodyguards were released after apologizing in a letter to the journalists.

Today, she visited the Taj Mahal and on Friday, she plans to attend the Jaipur Literature Festival, reports AP.

Well this one is no exception; Britney Spears ex-bodyguard Fernando Flores becomes the latest bodyguard to consider writing a tell-all book about his former client. Like many other bodyguards who have decided to go down this dark road of no return, Flores decides to empty the Spears laundry bag on the table of public opinion for all to see. I won’t deny that there may be a lucrative payday in front of him. But without a doubt, his inconsideration for the EP business will cast a negative impact on the industry as a whole, and will surely prevent him from ever working as a protective agent on this scale again. Top secret security documents detailing plans for policing this summer’s London Olympics was left on a train. The file, which could have provided terrorists planning an attack with very useful data, was lost by a policeman.
A commuter found it and handed it to The Sun, who returned the file to the police, the newspaper reported Tuesday. The chief inspector in Scotland Yard’s Territorial Policing branch is said to be “hugely embarrassed” by the potentially serious blunder.

“Restricted” files spell out the security plans in place at the sites of events and provide minutes of top-level meetings in which ways to beat terrorists were discussed. The document contains dates and details of pre-Olympics rehearsals, explains emergency lockdown procedures and sets out plans to avoid traffic congestion. It also reports at length on damning complaints from officers about the radios they will use during the Olympics.

The documents were found by a commuter on a train in Dartford in Kent, southeastern England, on Jan. 5. “I couldn’t believe any policeman could have left this on a train. It’s a worry,” the unnamed commuter said.
London’s Metropolitan Police played down the incident, saying the files were not thought to be operationally sensitive. A spokeswoman said, “An officer lost his bag containing a number of documents. He reported the loss. The Directorate of Professional Standards have been informed, as is routine.”

Madonna’s Former Bodyguard Jailed

In The News: Steven Greenoe, a 37 American of Raleigh North Carolina, and a one time US Marine who used to work as a Bodyguard for Madonna has been convicted of smuggling guns into the UK.

Greenoe bought weapons from American gun shops, broke them down to their component parts and then smuggled them into the UK in his luggage.

He was arrested at Raleigh Durham International Airport on 25 July 2010 when an arsenal of 16 lethal firearms was found in his suitcase.

The trial in Liverpool heard that weapons linked to the conspiracy were used in at least one fatal shooting in the UK. Undercover police officers in Liverpool also bought three Glock handguns for £3,600 apiece. Greenoe paid just £300 for each of those weapons in America.

In October last year a 24-year-old man suffered a bullet wound to the leg during a drive-by shooting in Wythenshawe, Manchester.

The gun used in the shooting was never found, but cartridges at the scene match guns bought by Greenoe in America, the trial heard. Another weapon, a “composite firearm” used in the attempted robbery of a Liverpool taxi driver last March, was forensically matched to two guns purchased by Greenoe in America. Detectives fear those incidents could be just the tip of the iceberg.

The court in America was told that Greenoe smuggled 63 pistols on nine trips to the UK between February and July, 2010. It is understood he was stopped by airport security staff in North Carolina on at least one occasion when screening detected items in his suitcase.

But he managed to convince workers he was an arms salesman and the weapons parts were dummies. Greenoe will serve 10 years at a federal court in Greenville, North Carolina, followed by three years supervision on his release.

China Bikini Bodyguard – Twenty women, dressed in bikinis wanting to become female bodyguards, were kicked, dunked, near-drowned and forced to carry a heavy log between them during a tough boot camp run by professional bodyguards on Sunday. Tianjiao Special Guard Consultant Ltd., a Chinese security company, started their brutal training regimen for their future female bodyguards in China’s Hainan Province.

This is the first open group of female bodyguards in China, and those that survive the harsh month-long training will be entered into a longer, 10-month program, wherein they would learn a variety of skills to effectively guard their clients.

Anti-terrorism training, martial arts skills, reconnaissance and business etiquette must all be developed in order for the ladies to become bodyguards.

The twenty aspiring women bodyguards all have an education of some sort, with many of them graduating from college. Being a bodyguard presents a different economic opportunity, however.

Instead of making the average annual salary in China of about $1,500, these women can make far more. Some bodyguards get paid up to $100 a day to protect their rich clientele.

In Ronald Kessler’s book, “In the President’s Secret Service,” Al Gore makes negative comments about the Secret Service, Kessler writes about the time Gore was lecturing one his kids about the need to study when he pointed to the Secret Service and said, “otherwise you’re going to end up like these guys,” I wonder what Gore would have to say about this individual now that he’s aspiring to be a US Senator.

Daniel Bongino a former Secret Service agent who vowed to take a bullet for Presidents Obama and Bush is now trying to take Benjamin Cardin’s Senate seat. Bongino spent 12 years with the Secret Service before he resigned in May to launch a Senate campaign to challenge the Maryland Democrat.
