Bodyguard Careers Staff
This could be an outstanding opportunity for an individual or a nightmare depending on what you believe are the real duties of a true EP professional.
I had a three month assignment last year similar to the one being offered above. Most of the time the main protectee would want me to stay at his residence with his wife and children and their household staff.
I was asked to perform duties such as walking the dog for several hours per day, take care of laundry delivery and pick-up, drive the children to school, settle disputes between household employees, drive to the pharmacy to pick up medications for the family, take family vehicles to the dealer to get serviced, fix the son’s amplifier, etc. You get the idea.
The frustration was not so much all the “personal services” built into the contract by my employer and the client, but the fact the client was less concerned about his and the famiy’s personal safety despite all the threat vulnerabilities due to his being a high profile CEO.
There is no doubt this family saved considerable time and money by having me perform all these extra duties. But at what cost since the main protectee was willing to sacrifice his personal safety most of the time by having me stay with his wife and children at the estate.
