I would like to encourage readers to be creative in their pursuit of employment. Remember, you may need to start with the lower-paying work and build up to the high-paying gigs. Experience in a real-world setting is valuable, and a must-have on your resume, in addition to your training.

Here is an idea that might help you to get the ball rolling:

Did you know that there has been a rise in crime perpetrated on realtors who are alone showing homes? Real estate companies increasingly are seeking protection specialists or bodyguards to deter would-be criminals from harming their agents. What if you were proactive and contacted a real-estate company to see if they would be interested in working with you–and offer a rate that works with their budget! This is a great way to get your foot in the door doing bodyguard work, and build your resume.
