Well said as always Doc. 2010 was a tough business year for many businesses not just the protection business. So stand tall and reconfirm as Doc suggests. For those new to the business continue to prepare for your success. Think about a rookie professional athlete. While they may be new to the league they have prepared for this time all of their life. Build the skills and the opportunity and the money will come. For the seasoned agents it may be time to reinvent yourself as the business is ever changing.
Remember spontaneous combustion doesn’t just happen, you got to light yourself on fire!
Your advice is as solid as usual, Doc. And the many motivating blog entries on this site are invaluable to the many discouraged, bitter, and hungry bodyguards I come in contact with. I hope that most can give your words more than a passing thought.
There’s definitely lessons to take away from hardship. The value of humility and patience, along with the need to constantly re-evaluate and progress, should be among them.
